Welcome to the Synagogue Transformation and Renewal (STAR) webcast! We are excited to bring you this landmark forum featuring Edgar M. Bronfman, Sr., Charles Schusterman, and Michael H. Steinhardt which will broadcast live at 8:00pm Central Daylight Time on Wednesday, September 6, 2000.

They will be speaking in their roles as founding partners of STAR with the panel moderated by John Ruskay, Executive Vice President, UJA Federation of New York.

The first STAR summit meeting is being convened to discuss the future of the synagogue and its role in our Jewish community - across the denominational spectrum. Attending this 2-day meeting will be more than 150 leaders of Jewish religious movements, seminaries, rabbinical associations, Jewish philanthropies and communal organizations, and others committed to a renaissance of Jewish life in the 21st century.

Following the forum, the webcast will feature live interviews with attendees and a private concert with singer/ songwriter Peter Himmelman. A performer with a zealous worldwide fan base, Peter is an engaging and exciting entertainer. We invite all our webcast viewers to stay online and enjoy the concert.

This webcast will demonstrate the key role technology can play in helping synagogues reach the community through a variety of media. And, through the webcast, we’ll be able to include many more people in what promises to be an energizing discussion between three noted leaders of the North American Jewish community.

“Seating” at this historic event will be limited and available on a first-come first-served basis, so make sure you mark your calendars and be on-time!
